Running Shoeless With Five Fingers Shoes

Vibram Five Fingers ShoesA company known as Vibram is taking us back to running barefoot as we did in our childhoods. They have created shoes that are just like running barefoot. The shoes, that price from $75 to $125, are selling fast and becoming rare. The 75-year-old Italian company has made itself a name in making soles for high-end boots.

It all changed 6 years ago when a man known as Robert Frili approached them with what you could not really call a shoe. It looked more like a foot glove. Slowly and steadily, these have been moving on the shelves. Up until now, they are one of the company’s fastest moving products and you cannot find them on the shelves.  A paper written in Harvard earlier this year that outlined the benefits of barefoot running have people even more intrigued by these shoes.

“Most people today think barefoot running is dangerous and hurts, but actually you can run barefoot on the world’s hardest surfaces without the slightest discomfort and pain. All you need is a few calluses to avoid roughing up the skin of the foot,” said Daniel E. Lieberman, professor at Harvard.

What these shoes do is connect you to the earth in a way that is impossible to do in ordinary shoes. The Five Fingers foot gloves do this by stimulating the muscles in your feet and lower the body. It is to improve strength and range of motion or at least the Vibram company claims.

They can back up what they say due to the large volumes of items that are moving off the shelves. Buyers are advised that if they see a pair they should buy them. You never know when they will show up next.
