A new album of unreleased material by Michael Jackson is scheduled for release in November. The album will contain 10 unreleased songs and will be produced by Rodney Jerkins. Jerkins was also the producer of Jackson’s 2001 album ‘Invincible’, which was the last album he recorded until his untimely death in 2009.
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, there are almost 100 unreleased tracks in Jackson’s music vault, with the vast majority of them recorded being back in the 1980′s. The new album is the first of seven in a $250 Million dollar deal between Jackson’s estate and Sony Music.
Rolling Stone went on to say that the songs have all been stored on hard drives and some of the recent recordings were duets Jackson had recorded with Akon and will.i.am. of the Black Eyed Peas. The new recordings by Jackson now puts him into the mold of artists like Tupac Shakur, Notorious BIG, and Johnny Cash who all had albums released after their deaths.
Jackson’s manager, Frank DiLeo, also said a new karaoke style video game will be coming out featuring Michael Jackson. The game will let people become Jackson as they moonwalk across the world while singing at venues where Jackson performed. Felecia Williams, the director of the Jackson brand, says “the game boils down to the full performance…dancing, singing and being a part of the full performance.”
