Lindsay Lohan, the 24-year-old Hollywood actor who has been living a troubled life, has been released out of Lynwood jail so she could begin her rehabilitation.
Lohan is expected to go into rehab for 90 days after completing her term in jail for violating probation. She only served 13 days out of a 90-day sentence and has been released early because of “over crowding”.
She will now spend the next three months at the Ronald Reagen UCLA Medical Centre for treatment. The centre is well known for the treatment of methamphetamine addiction. Lohan’s doctors have concluded that her drug and psychiatric problems are not as serious as thought.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel first sentenced Lohan on July 6 when Lohan missed seven education classes during a compulsory abuse program in December.
Judge Martha Revel has since dismissed herself off from the case and handed it over to Judge Eldon Fox. Shawn Chapman, Lohan’s lawyer, asked her to be released from rehab and start outpatient care.
Dina Lohan, the star’s mother, says she believed that Lohan did not need to be sentenced for violating probation. She also said that her daughter would relocate to New York once her rehab was over.
Sources close to the case said a hearing was arranged for Next Wednesday, by which time Judge Fox could release her from the hospital.
Lohan Lindsay has acted in popular films like “Freaky Friday” and “The Parent Trap”. However, her film career has been unstable during the last six years.
