TNA crowned a new heavyweight champion at the annual Bound for Glory fight fest triple threat match with a bittersweet ending.
The main event was the much-anticipated final showdown for the TNA World Heavyweight tournament as Mr. Anderson, Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy all met to fight for the chance to take home the championship belt. Hardy is known for his “charisma” and daredevil stunts in TNA Wrestling.
Angle was thinking and moving quickly with a double German suplex that drove the audience wild. Hardy then sent Angle down hard onto the floor, but Angle pushes himself back up and brings Anderson out. Those two go at it before Hardy leaps on top of both of them. Now with all three fighters in the ring, Anderson tries to pin both of his opponents, but is not quite successful.
Angle goes at Hardy with back-to-back German moves. He then pulls down the straps and gets Hardy in an ankle lock. Anderson comes in to try to save Hardy, but Angle is able to get both men locked down at the same time. Luckily, Hardy and Anderson are able to get out of the hold.
Hardy and Anderson exchange roll ups and then do a double clothesline. Angle then hits Hardy with a moonsault and Hardy rolls out. Angle and Anderson do an exchange on reversals before Angle comes running out of a corner with a clothesline that Anderson is able to duck. Angle, however, nails Brian Hebner.
The match ends after Eric Bischoff storms down the ramp and jumps into a shouting match with Hulk Hogan. With an assist from Bischoff, Hardy uses the distraction and is able to get Anderson down just enough time for the ref to call it.
