Broadway musical “Rock of Ages” has recruited front man Dee Snider of Twisted Sister to star in its upcoming show at The Brooks Atkinson Theatre according to producers. Snider has assumed the role of “Dennis” for a limited 11-week run October 11 thru December 24.

The musical depicts the story of two rock-n-rollers in 1987. The story is set on the Sunset Strip as a small town girl meets a big city rocker in L. A.’s most infamous rock-n-roll club. The couple falls in love to some of the greatest rock songs of the 1980’s while they take on an evil land developer with the mission of demolishing the local club.

The musical tells the story through the top rock songs of that era featuring Poison, Journey, Bon Jovi among others.

Snider will not have to search real deep to fill the rocker role, since he has been a public rock figure since the 1970’s. Two of the songs featured in the musical are hits performed by him and his band “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and as “I Wanna Rock”.

Although Snider is no stranger to the stage, this will be his Broadway debut. Currently, Snider hosts a syndicated radio broadcast while preparing for a Twisted Sister tour early next year. Snider just wrapped up season one of his reality show “Growing up Twisted”. The show follows the lives of both parents and children alike as they live in a “twisted” world with Snider.

The musical is set to hit Broadway on October 11. However, Snider will begin hosting “Rock Senate Hearings”, beginning on October 19. The “hearings” are post-show interview sessions with special invited guests and “Rock of Ages” stars. Founder Mick Jones of Foreigner and the author of “I want to Know What Love Is”, will be the first invited panel guest for the hearings.
