The 11th season of “Dancing with the Stars” premieres on Tuesday September 21 at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
Producers are expecting the new line-up to bring some surprises and excitement to the dance floor this season. The cast consists of singers, actors, athletes and even the daughter of a one-time vice president hopeful.
Fans were enthused as the show’s host Tom Bergeron and co-host announced the new cast for this upcoming season. The identities of the celebrities aired during a broadcast of Bachelor Pad on Monday night.
The six female celebrities are The Hills star Audrina Patridge, R&B singer actress Brandy, Daughter of Sarah Palin, Bristol Palin, Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey, America’s favorite mom Florence Henderson and funny lady Margret Cho.
The male stars for this season are Baywatch star and singer David Hasselhoff, Disney star Kyle Massey, singer Michael Bolton, “The Situation” Mike Sorrentino and former NBA star turned actor Rick Fox. With the exception of Bolton and Sorrentino, all made appearances at the announcement on Monday night.
The show has paired each of the stars with a professional dancer in hopes of watching them grow over the course of the season. During the season premiere, the coupled dancers will perform a Viennese waltz or cha-cha routine. Couples are eliminated from the combined judges’ scores and viewer votes, which are aired the following night. The ultimate prize is the Mirrored Disco Ball at the end of the season.
