After winning major rating increase for its Monday night Rock-N-Roll theme show, “Dancing with the Stars” said goodbye to “The Hills”, Audrina Patridge on Tuesday night.
Kicking off the results show for “Dancing with the Stars” Rock-N-Roll themed show was Palin’s Tango to the hit song “According to You” which the judges deemed the best. Of all the dance performances, Bristol and her partner Mark were a big surprise in they had a strong vote from the judges and the viewing audience.
The weekly results show offered another surprise. Many people believe Kyle Massey had the best chance of being eliminated after his low score and several weeks of lackluster performances.
However, it was football player Kurt Warner who received the lowest score this week. His fan base from the NFL, many of them women, probably helped his changes.
Like always, the “Dancing with the Stars” results show included other entertainment. This week it was live performances by Macy’s Stars of Dance: School of Rock, singing and dancing to “We Will Rock You” and Alice Cooper’s hit, “Schools Out”, including Heart and Kylie Monogue. Heart performed “Barracuda,” one of their biggest hits.
After dancers one by one heard they were safe, the two remaining dancers were Patridge and Jennifer Grey. That either of them was going home was a surprise, but if it had been Grey, it would have been one of the biggest upsets in the history of the show.
Grey has been a leader throughout the latest season. Her story resonates with women, and she seems to draw support from a wide age range. She made a name for herself dancing, and she is doing it again now many daces later.
Brady also is a strong performer, but she also has a huge fan base working in her favor. That is what Patridge did not bring to the game. She is not a name that speaks to generations, and that ultimately worked against her Tuesday night when she was eliminated.
