The closest people to America’s royalty are set to get married in the state of New York. Chelsea Clinton is planned to marry Marc Mezvinsky on July 31st, 2010 at Astor Courts in Rhinebeck, New York. The Clinton’s are ready for their only daughter, Chelsea, to wed next week. Chelsea Clinton is the daughter of former 42nd President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
“I think in America, we don’t really have royalty and I think that Chelsea growing up in the White House is kind of our royalty. So this is kind of like our royal wedding,” says Randy Fenoli, Fashion Director at New York’s famed Kleinfeld Bridal salon.
Chelsea Victoria Clinton was born on February 27, 1980 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her name was inspired by her parents’ fondness for the Judy Collins 1969 recording of the Joni Mitchell song “Chelsea Morning”.
In November 2009, Clinton announced her engagement to investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, son of former Iowa congressman Edward Mezvinsky and former Pennsylvania congresswoman Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, and nephew of Norton Mezvinsky.
The couple has known each other since they were teenagers and together they attended Stanford University in California. Marc is an investment banker for Goldman Sachs in New York City.
The guest list is all set, made public in mid-July 2010, includes such notables as Barack Obama, Ted Turner, Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg. With a guest list of celebrities the town of Rhinebeck will be full of tourist lined up to see the stars.
